Data Center Standards Update
There are currently two standards bodies that are working on developing Telecommunication Infrastructure Standards for Data Centers. Reliable Resources continues to be active in the development of these standards through participation and leadership in the editing committees of these standards bodies.
Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA) was the first to embark on developing a set of standards in early 2001. The standard is being developed by the TR42.1.1 working group within TIA. Currently the draft standard is out for industry ballot which provides the editing committee an opportunity to review any comments from interested parties within the industry. It is anticipated that the standard (TIA-942) will be published early 2005.
BICSI has just recently started to develop a “Design and Installation Best Practices” standard. This standard is in the very early phase of development and the scope and content outline is currently being identified.
If you have any questions regarding these standards please contact us for further information.
